Almost all of us love going on holiday, but very few of us love flying. This is something of a paradox though seeing as you need to get on a plane if you are going to get to the most exotic and restful locations.
The problem is that planes can be scary and involve taking off in a giant tin can and putting your complete faith in the pilot and engineering of the plane. Meanwhile they also involve being cramped with very little leg room for hours on end, and contending with low air pressure and humidity. For most of us it's a matter of bearing out teeth and just waiting to land so that the fun can begin.
But actually there's a lot to enjoy about flying. For one you get to admire beautiful views and at the same time you also have the benefit of being unable to do any work or answer any urgent calls. In other words you've no choice but to sit back and relax and that's got to be rather liberating right?
If you still are not convinced though, then read on to find some of the best ways to enjoy your flight …
Another stress of flying is the fact that you need to get to the airport on time and check in inn a rush to avoid missing your plane. This can be stressful but will be less so if you can leave early enough so that you have plenty of time.
Likewise you should also make sure that you drive to your destination thereby avoiding the need to rely on a taxi surface that may not turn up. Get nearby airport parking, and even consider staying in a hotel. Then once you're there you can enjoy getting a pint and a nice meal to relax before you go.
Another tip is to take a single small case that you can bring with you onto the plane as hand luggage. This will save you money if you're going with a budget airline, but it will also mean you do not need to check as much in or push as much around the airport saving you time and making the whole process much easier and less stressful .
Food on the plane is famously horrendous and overpriced too, but having a nice snack to chow down on can make all the difference. To make sure you can actually look forward to food, buy something nice for yourself at the airport and then save this to enjoy when you're in the air. This also saves you the faff of having to deal with trays of food or spilling hot meals on yourself.
Treating yourself to one of your favorite snacks is one way to make flying (literally) more palatable but there are other ways you can treat yourself too. For instance why not buy yourself a new book or magazine or download a new film on your tablet and then save that for the flight? This way you'll look forward to using the new purchase and so you'll be more likely to look forward to the flight itself.
